Now the Mini­varvet is dou­bled too!

The chil­dren’s run­ning fes­ti­val is back in Sep­tem­ber when the Mini­varvet returns dur­ing the Göte­borgsvarvet Marathon. This time, chil­dren, just like their par­ents, will have the oppor­tu­ni­ty to chal­lenge them­selves by run­ning dou­ble the dis­tance in the Mini­varvet Marathon – the race now extends from 210 meters to 420 meters. 

Minivarvet Marathon is a fantastic opportunity for the youngest participants to experience the excitement and joy of being part of the Göteborgsvarvet Marathon-weekend. The race is held in the Göteborgsvarvet family area, right at the start of the Göteborgsvarvet Marathon and Rosa Varvet, in the heart of Slottsskogen. It's the perfect place for the whole family to gather and support each other for the challenges ahead.

In addition to the 420-meter challenge, the family area will include plenty of other fun activities for the whole family, such as food trucks, crafts, Minivarvet Trail, picnic areas, and last but not least, the running troll Varva will be back to cheer on all the talented mini sprinters. The favorite from children's TV, Sara Edwardsson, will also return to the Göteborgsvarvet Marathon family area as herself, as well as Varva's best friend. You may know Sara as Supersnällasilversara or the fairies Prutta and Ros-Louise? Sara, along with Varva, will help with warm-up exercises and sing-alongs to create the right atmosphere for the double distance.

Sara Brown, project manager for the Mini Lap, shares her enthusiasm for this year's expansion of the race: "We are so excited to offer children the same challenge as those taking on the double Göteborgsvarvet Marathon distance. Seeing the joy and pride in the children as they take on the challenge is truly a wonderful experience."

The Minivarvet Marathon course, like the Göteborgsvarvet Marathon, will consist of two laps. Of course, if one doesn't feel up to both laps, it's perfectly fine to stop after one. The Minivarvet Trail is also available on the premises and is, as usual, 210 meters.
