Navigate around Slottsskogen in late summer.The Race Track

The course consists of two laps of approximately 5 kilometers each, with a terrain that is gently undulating. Expect a scenic environment and a moderate challenge along the way!

Although the course is mostly flat, it offers some gentle uphills and downhills along the route, providing just the right amount of variation.

Water will be available to all participants during the race.

The race starts at 10:00 AM in the middle of Slottsskogen and finishes at Margeretebergsgatan. The finish line closes at 12:00 PM.

There are warm-up areas available at the starting point. Friskis & Svettis will lead the warm-up from 9:40 AM.

Race Bib Pickup for Open 10k:
Race bib pickup takes place at the TIC (Technical Information Center) in Friidrottens Hus, about 1 km from the start in Slottsskogen.

- August 18: 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM

    After the race, you're warmly invited to head over to Slottsskogsvallen to enjoy the excitement as the world's best veterans compete for the World Championship titles in athletics.

    Feel free to swing by the Athlete's Village in the event park right next to the arena, where you can buy something delicious to eat and celebrate your own achievements alongside the rest of the world.

  • Seeding Rules

    With a result in WMAC OPEN 10K, you are automatically seeded to a better starting group in Göteborgsvarvet 2025 than if you are unseeded, no additional registration required. If you have multiple seeding results, it's always the best result that you're seeded with.

  • Registration

    Registration fee: 495 SEK

    Registration is open until August 17th at 11:59 PM (with reservation to earlier sell-out). All registration is done via the website. No on-site registration.

  • Toilets & changing rooms

    Toilets are available at both the starting and finishing areas.

    Please come dressed and ready for the start, as changing rooms and showers are not available.

  • Start Certificate & Race Bib

    You will receive your start certificate sent to the email address you provide during registration a few days before the race, approximately Wednesday afternoon. The race bib is collected at the race center, located in the Friidrottens Hus.

    We recommend picking up your race bib well in advance before the start. See opening hours and more information below.

  • Timing

    Timing is done using an electronic chip attached to your race bib. The finish line closes at 12:00 PM.

    The race applies net time, the timing starts when you cross the start line. So, there's no need to crowd at the start.

  • Opening hours for the race center

    The number bib is picked up at the Technical Information Center (TIC) in the House of Athletics (Friidrottens Hus), during the dates and hours listed below.

    August 17th: 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM
    August 18th: 08:00 AM - 09:30 AM

    Please note that the start takes place in Slottsskogen, about 1 km from the bib distribution, so make sure to arrive in good time. We recommend that you collect your bib well in advance before the start. Don't forget to bring your start certificate to collect your race bib.

  • Bag drop

    You can leave your bag at the bag drop-off area located near the start. All bags will then be transported to the finish area, where you can pick up your bag near the finish line on Margretebergsgatan. You'll use the baggage tag that you receive along with your race bib. We will store your bag and valuables free of charge during the race. The bag drop-off area is staffed, but we still want to alert you that you leave your belongings at your own risk.

  • Medal and t-shirt

    All participants receive a medal and the first 500 registrants will receive our Open 10k t-shirt. If you have a race number between 1-500, you are entitled to a T-shirt. The requested size on your registration will be accommodated as much as possible but cannot be guaranteed.

  • Arrival and parking

    Make a sustainable choice by using public transportation to get to the starting point. The nearest stops are Botaniska Trädgården, Marklandsgatan, and Linnéplatsen. Use Västtrafik To Go, the Journey Planner, or visit vasttrafik.se to plan your journey.

    There is a limited number of parking spaces available at Dalens Grusplaner for an environmental fee of 100 SEK. Payment is made via Swish.
